5Sometimes, less is moreNov 05, 2011

I love biscotti, but a big one is sometimes more than I want for dessert. One of these, with the light lemon flavor, the almond in the center is great with a cup of espresso and is not a calorific dessert. Just enough for a sweet touch at the end of a meal--or for a light snack when you want just a little something.

These are also nice dipped into a small glass of "vin santo" which is a sweet Tuscan wine, amber-colored and a bit like eiswein but less expensive and less sophisticated. The biscuit and a glass of sweet wine make an interesting dessert. I prefer these tiny biscotti to the long, large ones for this as well.
