Caffe' Sant' Eustachio is a Roman legend, the coffee bar where Romans in the know stop for their daily dose of cappuccino and espresso. Located just steps away from the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, in the heart of Rome, Sant' Eustachio has been producing its signature coffee since 1938. If the quintessential coffee aroma will hit you first upon entering the beautiful coffee shop, you will be impressed as well by the Café's original furniture and mosaic floors. Sant' Eustachio coffee is roasted on the premises, in the back of the coffee bar, without any chemical processing. The beans, selected by the owner Roberto Ricci from the best coffee varieties in the world are slowly roasted on wood. The Sant' Eustachio blend, 100% Arabica beans, tastes smooth and sweet, it has an extremely low acidity and caffeine content, making it also ideal for a creamy cup of cappuccino. The beans are roasted in small batches ensuring an ever fresh fragrance and packed in the original yellow can which bears the picture of a stag's head, the symbol of the Sant' Eustachio Church, a church more than 1000 years old and still standing in the same piazza across from the Sant'Eustachio Cafe'. | | | Features: | |

Not Simply Wonderful!Sep 05, 2010 After reading an article in a Boston newspaper,I bought three cans (beans, espresso, moka). SAVE YOUR MONEY! It might be different if you buy directly from the store in Rome, however the stuff that I bought was STALE and tasted SOUR and "RUSTY." It even gave me a headache.
I was sorry I didn't save my receipt of purchase otherwise I would have sent them back to the online distributor via Amazon.
The cans are pretty, so I dumped the coffee into the trash. I never opened the Moka blend but I'm sure it will taste and smell like the two others.
If you are going to drink canned espresso, stick to what's popular. And never believe what you read from a newspaper reporter.
EXPIREDJun 12, 2010 Beans arrived and were promptly ground and brewed. Upon tasting I noticed the coffee was a fair bit weaker than I remember when visiting Sant'Eustachio in Rome. 3/4 through the can of beans I flipped over the can and noticed the date. 2007. Wow. Talk about super expired out dated beans.
Given the other reviewers postings -- I'd give up and just buy beans from somewhere else. It won't be the same but won't be as disappointing as these ones.
Cafe beans from Sant' EustachioApr 14, 2010 The best coffee ever available now from Gustiamo in the Bronx. Great product, speedy delivery, affordable price. Don't have to return to Roma every time we need more. Highly recommend.
Deserves its place in the pantheonApr 01, 2010 Low acidity and medium-level roasting... therefore it's a good one to drink as an espresso shot without milk. But it's also tempting to try and make as good coffee (with milk-foam and sugar) as they make at San't Eustachio in Rome. A bit hard to find in the US... that, as well as the fact that the beans originate in fair-trade farms, justifies the higher price than other Italian espresso.

Simply wonderful!Nov 16, 2009 I came across espresso made from these beans at my friend's place in Amsterdam - who told me about this little cafe in Rome that sells the best coffee and how she lugged several pounds back to Amsterdam. A month later, and once I had returned home to San Francisco, I had invested in an espresso machine and the only thing missing were those beans. What do you - it's available through Amazon - just incredible! This espresso is for the serious drinker with taste buds that only appreciate exclusive Italian coffee. The seller shipped on time, great service too.
